Record The Baptist Hour

On January 5, 1941, Dr. M. E. Dodd of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana, stepped to the microphone and launched THE BAPTIST HOUR. Now, over sixty-one years later, THE BAPTIST HOUR is still proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world searching for truth and answers to lifes questions. From that humble beginning in 1941, THE BAPTIST HOUR, under the leadership of Dr. Samuel F. Lowe and Dr. Paul M. Stephens, now has listeners in all fifty states and over twenty foreign countries. Its list of speakers reads like a Whos Who in Religion and the Southern Baptist Convention. For over half a century, pulpit greats such as Herschel H. Hobbs, George W. Truett, R. G. Lee, W. A. Criswell, Ed Young, and Frank Pollard have brought the truths of the Bible home in a practical manner to individuals and families. Not all The Baptist Hour speakers have been preachers--laymen have also helped to convey the message of hope and love and faith. Pat Neff, former Texas Governor and President of Baylor University, North Carolina Governor J.M. Broughton, businessman Howard E. Butt and others have graced the airways to touch hearts and change lives with the Word of God. .
